Can't get fully comp car insurance for a week in Ireland. Why?

I have a car insurance with Churchill, fully comp. Driving to Ireland for a week, but can't get fully comp for a week in Ireland (did have it to other countries) and no explanation as to why.
Anyone would know what could that be?

You were clear that you just want a temporary travel extension and not to change your address to being in the Republic of Ireland?

Absolutely. They asked about the dates and I gave it to them.

Is travel within the Republic of Ireland not included as part of a normal UK insurance policy anyway?
It's not something I'd even think to check!

AIUI some (but not all) insurers only provide third party cover outside the UK.

EDIT: Just checked and (happily) discovered that my insurer (RAC) includes fully comprehensive cover for up to  60 days within the 12 months of my policy.

The sample policy booklet that Churchill have online says this about driving in the ROI (Page 28). Does yours say the same?

All insurers include the legal minimum in EU countries, we may have had Brexit but we haven't moved too far away yet. In most countries that will be something broadly similar to TPO cover here.

Some insurers provide up to X days per year in EU countries at comp level. Most insurers allow you to either add to that number of days or add to 0 days
