Trading 212 'debit' card 1% cashback to replace Chase?

I've just got the 212 card added to my app/Google pay. I went for the virtual version as you have to pay for a real card.
Anyone else using this? Are there any downsides/difficulties/limitations or is it just a case of add money to the card and use it for everyday spening?

Yes, it's essentially just a prepaid card. Monthly limit of £15 and there are some restrictions where you won't earn cashback e.g., 'government services' which includes the Post Office, gambling, using the card to make bank and stockbroker deposits.VXman said:I've just got the 212 card added to my app/Google pay. Bit niche - anyone have the Trading 212 card added to Airtime and can confirm (or otherwise) that gift card purchases earn cashback?
Don't know how to check the MCC used by my current spend.0 -
I’ve purchased gift cards from various sites and the cashback was paid.flaneurs_lobster said:Bit niche - anyone have the Trading 212 card added to Airtime and can confirm (or otherwise) that gift card purchases earn cashback?

The downside is that you don't get a PIN, so all in-person transactions are contactless. I assumed that this would rule out large payments, although there is still an in-app verification process so I never experienced a failed payment.0 -
Yes - I'm currently using it as a replacement for Chase. They currently offer 1.5% cashback until July 4th as long as you reinvest the cashback. After July 4th, the cashback will drop to 0.5%, which is quite competitive for a non-Amex card. I haven't found any downsides yet.The alternative is the new Lloyds Premier account which pays 1% cashback (max £10 per month). However, you need to pay £5k per month into the account or have over £100k in savings with Lloyds, so not for everyone. I've signed up to this and will probably use it in July when the T212 cashback offer ends.0

Apropos sort-of - received today in post a new Tesco Clubcard Pay+ Visa debit card, for an account that has had no activity and a zero balance for well over a year.
Trading 212 charge £4.95 for a physical card.

With only a virtual card you won't get a PIN because you cannot insert it into a device.1

I have moved all of my pennies out of chase and I now use T212 as my main account. Never had a problem with it so far - fingers crossed !!1
