Not really related to money saving, but wondering how everyone is finding things in 2025?
After about seven good (and some very good) years running our small business in the construction industry, work has gone off a cliff since xmas.
I'm hoping it just me, and its a blip, but I'm struggling to understand where the enquiries have gone.
I've lost two guys, which was a huge relief, but definitely making no money. Fortunately we have some reserves, so we can survive, but can't see any light ahead at the moment.
And just can't understand why the downturn has been so sudden.

I work as a sales director for a medium sized manufacturer and can relate - it's similarly been awful (everyone in the sector reports the same).
Everything is shooting up in price, wages are being stretched further, a lot of people don't have the money to spend like they used to. Likewise costs are soaring and you're nervous from passing them on, but you can't absorb everything indefinitely.
I can't see that it will be a 'blip' (as I'm not sure what could suddenly happen to increase everyone's discretionary income) but it is an opportunity to explore what you can do to adapt (e.g. cost savings).Know what you don't1
