Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Quiet Bank holiday weekend, didn't see anyone.
Had a little rain but need much more. Tried to put a few plants in the ground but it was just too hard. Potted tomatoes into their final large pots, fingers crossed I get a good harvest.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.15 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I think our weather is going to be a rinse and repeat of the last few days. Sunny spells and intermittent showers. I need to go out on slug watch at some point as I expect all this rain will have brought them out in force. The sun is currently trying its best to get up over the moors, I hope it makes it.
Yesterday promised to be a nothing day until I got a text mid morning from DS inviting me out for lunch with him and his partner. That was a nice surprise as I thought their w/e away was his birthday celebration .We all made pigs of ourselves and even made room for pud.
I don't foresee any nice surprises for today but I still need to pop down into town for some toiletry bits which has been put off since Saturday. I might finally make it today.
Have a good day folks if you can and gentle ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Good morning, thanks Gers.
Hope your tomatoes do well SO, there's nothing nicer than home grown tomatoes.
We've had rain, but as SO says, need a lot more. Ironic isn't it, all that rain last year and we were fed up with it, now we want it!
Didn't get to Do*bies yesterday, we're trying for it this morning. Dgd and I did go shopping though. She likes clothes shopping and she's only 12. They grow up fast these days.
Hope everyone is ok and has good days.
Take care folks.14 -
Morning allWeather says rain and strong gusts of winds today. Sun is shining at the moment though.I've been sorting lots of photos out that I want to have scanned and stored so am going to a place that's got a shop in a large supermarket near me so will see what they can offer. Apart from that I'll be hanging a wash on the airer indoors due to the weather today. I've just had a reminder come up on my phone that I must have put on the calender at some point and have no idea what it means!! All it says is a name of a supermarket and the word Tiger. I googled it but all it comes up with is Tiger cat food. I don't own a cat. A senior moment or what!!!Have a good day all x13

The journey back yesterday was stress free. The bus was very busy with lots of young'ish men all heading for the ferry port to go to Islay, there must be an event there. Even going up the Rest diversion was fine as, on both trips, we got to the end of the queue just as it was moving and we were last vehicle through. Later in the day others were reporting waits of up to 40 minutes - bank holiday traffic going home. This morning I need to do some shopping so will head up in about an hour. There's washing waiting to be done but I'm not confident that the horrible heavy showers from yesterday won't be around today. They stormed in, dropped torrential rain for 10 minutes and then the sun came back out. That was it for the day. I think that the washing will just have to wait. What a lovely surprise @TA, and what a thoughtful DS. My fingers are crossed for your tomatoes @SO. Hope you get to the garden centre @Scarlet.Hugs to all, especially the poorlies.13

Morning all
Its been raining during the night it’s stopped now but due back at 11 for the rest of the day, I have three people coming today we were going for a walk but we will have to have a re-think maybe bowling and a walk around the shops but Rob now only has about £5 in his wallet so it may not work, I asked for them to send him some more money about a month ago but still nothing, they are an awful family it’s his money it’s really unfair that he has no access to it.
Dinner tonight will be roast lamb which was cooked yesterday it was delicious and will just need heating through later on, dd is working late shift today so will eat at work.
The birds are flocking to the new bird table I have an app on my phone that records bird song and identifies what different birds are there, you can then add them to your list, dd and I love it and call it Pokémon birds 😂
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all. The sun was out when I got up but it's clouded over now.
Still busy here. We had a day in Stratford upon Avon yesterday; lovely place to visit and we did a boat trip and lots of Shakespeare related things. It didn't rain until the very end of our day so that was well timed.
Today we are looking after the DGS whilst their parents are at a funeral, then I will feed everyone and hope to get out in time to make a pub music session this evening in Bedford.
@silver-oldie; good luck with the tomatoes. I've tried in the past but they never grow well for me.
Hope everyone's day goes well.13 -
RedRuby there's a good reason to contact Rob's SW, and you could nonchalantly ask about his future "in case you will need to seek more clients"...

Morning all, looks like a mixed day ahead weather wise. I had a busy day yesterday, ironing all our holiday clothes, and then making some things to freeze then I can get back to my normal eating pattern. Those Greek ice creams and desserts are too tempting! No special plans today, take care.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all 😊
Not sure where the last week has gone!
Some life admin sorted, OHs ISA, travel insurance, car insurance, hygienist……
Out with ‘Ladies Who Lunch’, niece’s dog show, where her lovely black lab came second for best trick.
Busy day today, OH has gone out to meet his 2 friends for breakfast, I’m going to my other niece’s tea party celebration, then rushing back home as my hairdresser is coming, then finish packing for our 2 week holiday to Lesvos 🏖️, taxi coming at 3.15 am tomorrow!
Have a good day everyone.
PS I love the bird sounds app Ruby, I use Merlin 🦅😊
