Faulty tire rejected for warranty
I purchased a tyre from a big company who fitted it in Feb. It had a slow leak but I'd not had time to take it back to the shop to sort and I also thought it would settle as it could have not seated fully and would resolve itself.
However it was getting to the point of where it would loose 2-3psi a day.
I finally had time to get it into the shop to check.
They sprayed it and checked all over and were unable to locate any leak. However they removed it and reseated it and sealed the rims to see if this helped.
I went away and the next day it had still lost another 3psi.
I booked in and asked them to swap left for right to confirm if the issue was tyre or rim.
However they inflated the tyre to 60psi and located a pin hole in the wall with a bulge.
No scrapes or scuffs and the tech even said it was weird.
I purchased a new tyre and asked for the one to be sent off for warranty claim.
1 week later the manufacturer is saying "The tyre shows evidence of having been damaged by an abnormal impact on the road (exposure to road hazards

like potholes, curbs, etc.)."
As you can see the wall is in pristine condition no scuffs or scrapes.
1 they have offered no allowance against the new tyre considering it is practically new.
2 where can I get the tyre independently assessed to confirm their findings?
Anything else I should consider doing?
Many thanks

There looks to be a mark on the wheel. It looks quite noticeable, to say that they didnt spot it the first time.1

Was that cut at the top right there when you bought it?
How much did the tyre cost? How much time and money are you willing to waste on it?0 -
That slice is probably enough to indicate it is road damage.1

It's a Goodyear Tyre and seems to have a cut in the tread and sidewall by the TRH corner of the chinagraph pencil box... and an obvious crease/bulge on the wing of the logo.
Bad luck to have damaged a brand new tyre like that.
Only puncture I've had in many tens of years was on a brand new set of 4 (screw or nail picked up somewhere) a couple of years back. Annoying but that's life.1 -

The puncture where the air is leaking is in the middle of the Goodyear logo in real life it looks like more of a pin hole.
Even the 2nd tech said there is no markings showing any damage to the side wall of the tire just the hole...0 -
It’s one of those cases where it’s best to put it down to experience and move on. A professional inspection and report will cost hundreds and may not necessarily confirm your suspicion.0

Looks like it has been nipped by a kerb to me. As above not a battle worth fighting.0
