Wetroom tiles grouting

I had a bathroom wetroom tiled by a person. 3 weeks ago. He finished the job and I paid him £1300 by bank transfer halifax bank. I have now noticed that in various places the person has filled in the tiles with silcone rather than grout.
I am going to phone him to give me a explanation to why he filled with silcone and rectify the wrong doing But I'm worried if he does not fix the problem what can I do to get my money back?
Thanks

The corners between walls, and wall to floor should be silicone, is that what you mean?Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

All of it? You're only entitled to the cost of rectification. As asked above, you need to establish that he's fitted them incorrectly, first.pope said:I had a bathroom wetroom tiled by a person. 3 weeks ago. Certain bits need to be filled with silicone to allow for movement, otherwise the grout/tiles will crack.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. It's not the corner areas it's the actual tiles in the middle.Mr.Generous said:The corners between walls, and wall to floor should be silicone, is that what you mean?0 -
No not all of the money. I know he has not done it properly as it's the centre area of the tiles which should be grouted.Aylesbury_Duck said:

To answer your original question, if he doesn't rectify any faulty fitting, you would get someone else to do it and sue him for the cost. There's a long way to go before you're at that stage.0

No not near the the shower controls. It's the flooring which is affected.IvanOpinion said:By any chance is the area near any of the shower controls?
I have seen this done because (so I was told) the tiler was allowing 'access' to plumbing in behind without having to dismantle the wall on the other side. On the other hand I would expect tiles to be grouted in except around the areas where walls meet other walls or the floor.0 -
How is it affected? Is there a leak?pope said:

Perhaps an image or 2 of the affected area and how you feel it was incorrect would enlighten the discussion and ensure contributors were able to give accurate advice.
