Thanks @elsiepac for the new thread
may is a write off as totally lost track so going to start fresh - still aiming for £800 per month so roughly £200 a week which means it doesn’t really matter if I go payday to payday mid month or start-end of a month as it’ll even out. This covers all food/drink toiletries household pet food ect
we’re hopefully having a few days way in June so will probably be eating out a few times but hopefully I can offset some of that against a reduction in the grocery shop. I’d Normally have a separate budget for holiday food but it’s a last minute/unplanned break so will have to come out of my normal budget.
my June budget will start off at £34.75 for this months share the cats special diet food I bulk brought previously.this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk7 -
June Grocery Budget for 2 pensioners, £5 a day, £150.
Thank you @elsiepac.
This does make me feel more accountable when shop for our food. I have too much in stock still, meat and fish in the freezer bought on offer and yellow stickered, and lots of tinned stuff past its recommended date. As one blogger commented, “It is not getting any younger.”
The old hens are still providing more eggs than we need.
Our budget for meat is £3 each a week, cheese 50g, butter 50g, chocolate 50g each.DH bakes the bread and makes the kefir. I cook almost everything from basic ingredients and bake cakes once a week.
We have lots of honey from our beekeeping years still, and homemade jams, jellies and marmalade.
Chicken and dog food bought in bulk, toiletries, and cleaning stuff are not included.10 -
Hi, I am aiming for £100 for June please - splitting it again as £50 for 2 x hungry cats and £50 for a human woman - food, toiletries and household.8

Just a quick one this morning
Ate two of the ready meal curries from Farm Foods last night, as painted the kitchen. For £3 each they were delicious. Only the bathroom left to do in October when we have the bath removed and shower fitted. Old age bringing on a few mobility issues.
Anyway on the way back from taking the car to the garage called in at The Range and paid 50p for a YS Wholemeal loaf which will last us until our holiday.
£94.60/£400
Have a great day all

Thanks elsiepac for starting June's thread.
I'm sticking with £250 for June please - this is for me along with 2 adult children who spend half their time at home! I have a separate £60 budget for my dog and household cleaning and toiletries.
I really appreciate being part of this monthly challenge - it is keeping me focussed and I came in under budget in May!!
Good luck everyone,

£550 for June please. (Sorry I don't know how to make the text bigger!) 🙈
Hi everyone, I'm new to this challenge. I hope I'm doing this correctly!
We are a 3 adult, 1 teen household, 2 meat eaters, 2 vegetarian.
We have pets but I keep their budget separate.
I would like to include all human food, toiletries, cleaning etc, apart from toiletries for the one adult as she buys those herself. We make our own lunches for work and school and take out picnics if we go out at weekends and school holidays.
My starting budget is £550, I will be keeping track of spending to see if this needs to be increased or can be reduced.
Thank you for this challenge, I'm hoping it will keep me on track!9 -
Welcome @themsthebreaks and @Kittymumof4 this is a very warm and welcoming community 😊
Thank you @elsiepac for setting up the thread.
I would like to set a random amount of £446 this month. This is my normal £470 minus the £24 minimum payment on my 0% credit card.
I'm challenging myself too clear my mortgage in the next year and food is one of the few areas I can influence and save.
This is for food toiletries and cleaning products for 4 adults and two hungry children.
