How do you recognise a "digitally excluded" shopper of any age and that they are paying so much more for items on offer?Eldi_Dos said:
Must say I always feel guilty if there is a elderly digitally excluded shopper in front of me paying quite a lot more for items on offer, might be progress if the shops instructed some of their supervisors to look out for this and offer advice or assistance.flaneurs_lobster said:
It's a separate app, go look in your app store for 'SmartShop'.DonnySaver said:
Hmm, I don't appear to have that option in my Nectar app either. I'll have to ask them.flaneurs_lobster said:
.....unless you use the SmartShop app on your mobile to do the scanning.Yeah - you need a zapper I think. But ours doesn't have them so I'll never get these My Nectar Prices.
The thread is about Nectar. So presumably the only relevant item prices you would know about are the shelf-edge displayed Nectar prices. For that a shopper need only have presented a plastic Nectar card and so it is not related to digital inclusion or otherwise.

Because I keep my eyes and ears open, not hard to see when a elderly shopper in front of you is paying cash only and by default missing out on the offers mentioned.General_Grant said:

There was a recent thread about offering your loyalty card (I think specifically about Tesco) to enable another shopper to obtain any discounts (while you get the points). Provoked a lively debate and no real conclusion as to whether this was "acceptable" or otherwise, to either the supermarket or the recipient.Eldi_Dos said:

My local "Big" Sainsbury's does occasionally have an assistant at the entrance promoting Nectar - offer leaflets, help setting up app on phone etc but some people (not just the elderly) are quite adamant that they do not want their shopping/spending habits monitored, analysed & monetised by retailers.1 -
I didn't know one had to pay by card/phone in order to get Nectar prices.Eldi_Dos said:
