How do i do it ?

I know been here for months and only just got up the nerve to ask. I thought u might laugh it me  :-[

but you know when people have posted and you take a snipet of it to reply and it comes up in a box, how do i do it, i've been trying to click on the icons at the top of the write a message box above the smileys but keep making a b***$ of it  ???

I know i should have asked ages ago  :-[, but know i know ur all just a bunch of kind hearted softies  :-*

ps hope this is the right board :-/

click the 'quote' button on the post you want to quote, will be in top right of post next to 'modify'

You have to click 'quote', it's on the top right of the post. Then you either leave the whole lot in, or delete the bits you don't want. Or you can click 'reply' then click the second button from the right (above the crying smiley) then copy the text and paste it between the ][

The first way tells you the author, the second way doesn't. I'm not very good at explaining, does that make sense :-/

On a similar point could someone explain how I do a link to another page? I have managed to do a link to a site by using the square brackets and url= but don`t know how to link another page on another thread.

Go to the page you want to link to, right click and copy the url address up the top in your browser. Go to where you want to put the link and paste it in your reply. (Then if you want to add the "neat link" write "WORDS[" and ").
