What is the policy of a "no stopping" private car park? Immediate fine?

I found an image of the signs, although I am sure the one I saw was a formatted differently, possibly newer.
However this was positioned on the opposite side to where I pulled up. So while I did not see the "beyond this point sign" I don't think I went far enough to be cross the line onto private land.

Appears to fail the "Beavis" test plus sign is prohibitive, and to read that small print you will need to stop and read it.
And why is this sudden use of the term PTZ creeping in - something that is common on CCTV cameras and has been for a significant amount of time. Pan Tilt Zoom just means that someone/something can move the camera left/right (pan) up/down (Tilt) and zoom in/out. If it is a commercial entity using CCTV they would also have to comply with a raft of stuff under UK GDPR which could be used to tie them in knots

I probably overstated what I meant by "good signage" . Maybe "there was a sign big enough to be noticed", is more apt.

There is a much larger/newer sign which I can't get a photo of. This was, at the very least, enough to make me stop (luckily) before entering. So the sign I saw did the bare minimum at least.

But I agree with all your points and defer to your experience about the actual overall quality and legal viability of the signage.

    Overstated?!   :)

I've posted here for over 15 years and this place is ingrained in my mind as the WORST joke no stopping zone I've seen, ever!

I even used it as evidence for the Government and I described those signs and lines as the worst no stopping zone I'd ever seen:

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Very interesting. Beginning to realise how badly signposted and marked up it is. Appreciate you recognising the location and digging those out.

I always try to avoid private car parks like these, and unless you immerse yourself in the issues surrounding them regularly, the average person [me in this case] is not really aware of all the particulars. Even though I am aware of their nefarious practices in general.

In the legal claim one, would I be correct that they ignored/dismissed the initial PCN, until they were contacted by debt collection over one year later?

I was skimming the post to see if there was a date noting the original infraction until the PCN arrived.

I might start reading up a few of the newbie threads to prepare in case anything does arrive in the post.

Even if you saw the 'no stopping' there is certainly no charge for doing so visible. It's a mere advisory bit of A3 foamex.

The PPCs have discovered that if you make the small print as long as possible, even though the vast majority of it is completely unnecessary, the less room they have for the key terms. Which suits them just fine.

Why just talk about CCTV when you can also talk about "PTZ" and use up more signage space?

Is it worth writing to the MP for that area to highlight the practice of this car park?

Even if I have avoided getting a PCN, I was wondering it it might be useful thing to do.

Or would it just be a case of p****** in the wind.
