Simply Delivery INR - Funds Held

Anyone else been through a SD inr case yet?
Buyer opened case on Wednesday as evri tracking was showing no movement for over a week.
First email from ebay said 'don't worry, we can see you have sent the item using simple delivery so we have you covered'
But, the case is still 'on hold' and they have also put my funds from this transaction 'on hold'
I have already posted a replacement to the buyer.
I'm wondering how long the hold goes on for with SD?
And why they even put my funds on hold with SD if sellers are fully protected after dispatch?
Maybe ebay have a bit more clout with evri and they are chasing them up to actually locate and deliver the item?
I'll be out of pocket if that happens but I suppose that would be no difference to the old system.

If the time scales are anything like GSP INRs then eBay are very generous in allowing themselves far more time to make the buyer wait , than they allow us. One of my GSP items to the US had a case open for almost 3 weeks before eBay, after both me and the buyer contacted them daily , released fund services to both of us. Hopefully they won’t do the same for an SD INR, but do please update the thread when it is resolved.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It should tell you in the Payment Summary. When funds are on hold it tells you when they will be released.0

I actually told the buyer to open the inr case when I could see the evri tracking was not moving.
My presumption was/is that, due to simple delivery being used both myself and the buyer will get refunded in full?
I guess the correct/normal way to deal with this is to get the buyer to open a case for the missing item then separately list a 2nd item (if you have one available) for them to purchase rather than send a replacement.
The way I have done it I will end up out of pocket for one lot of postage and one item. Although that's what would have happened under the old postage system unless I was able to make a successful claim from RM/evri.
An additional issue I have found is that I can not replace the SD tracking number with the royal mail tracking number. The only option I have is to print another label (which I guess will be a copy of the first with the same tracking)swingaloo said:It should tell you in the Payment Summary. Don't do anything else, leave it until ebay close the case and refund the buyer and release your funds to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
