Child benefit

I am in receipt if child benefit fir last child abd my daughter isn't in education any more since start if year. I've asked 3 times to cancel but keep getting letters saying they can't find Aby child benefit in my nane so nothing to cancel? I added bank details, name etc abd the child?

how bizarre. is there no reference number anywhere (sorry years since I saw a CB notification) 

just keeping saving the money separately so you can pay it back when they work out what is going on

Could the claim be in the name of the child’ father but paid into your account or a joint account?

Could the child benefit claim be in your maiden name?

If you check on government gateway, you can check your proof of entitlement and past payments for child benefit. If you have nothing then perhaps it's in the child's other parents name?
