Good morning all from mehefinland
Another sleepless night.. lots on my mind which doesn't help. At least the blisteringly cold wind we suffered yesterday seems to have abated.
My friend is on her way to the Hebrides in her little campervan so I hope the weather is kind to her. I volunteered/was coerced into garden duties, and typically she had a long awaited delivery of perennials yesterday just before they set off. A trip to check on them later is on today's agenda.
Another new neighbour gave me a whole load of seed trays ( you know the multi ones that you get plantlets in from s/markets ) for reuse . They will come in for my library stuff. A little later he knocked on the door with a whole load of spider plants which he had potted on. Just enjoys growing things. Had a quick whiz around his garden earlier and it is amazing what he had done in the relatively short time he had lived there!
be back later probably when compus mentis (sp?)
Hugs and spoons as always

Good morning, thanks for starting Derek, we had a brisk North wind blowing yesterday. You sound busy as usual, it's kind of you to keep an eye on your neighbour's garden. Hope you sleep better tonight.
Trying to pretend it was early summer I went out in sandals and a thin jacket, brrr. When I had to go out again later I was wearing socks, shoes, and a warmer coat! We had the heating on for a while last night.
It's sunny at the moment anyway.
Not much planned for today.
Hope everyone is ok and has good days.
Take care folks.12 -
Morning all - thanks for starting us off @Mehefin - what a busy garden bee you are. Good luck with all the seedlings. Here's it's bright, not so warm but so far so lovely. It won't last much longer.Yesterday the invigilation session was down to be five hours, the student had extra time, though she finished even earlier than the normal time batch. I was able to get back out into the sunshine before it went away. I drank a little champagne and toasted my beloved DM and felt better. The happiest image of her is when she walked the length of her quite long hall with her arms outstretched for a hug whenever I came through her front door. She always greeted me that way whenever she could. I would ring her doorbell first and then use my key which gave her time to get up and going! This morning it's more at school then free.I hope that all are doing well. I'm sprinkling healing and happy hugs around the thread.13

Morning All
Thanks for the start Mehefin, your plant sale should be amazing. I have a bit of a tomato plant glut here but we have a plant swap at the library next week so I can put a lot of them in there.
Glad you could enjoy some of the sunshine Gers and could raise a glass to your beloved Mum.
The sun is shining but there doesn't seem to be any warmth in it yet, I think this is the last day of our glorious weather so the bedding is on the line and another load can go in once I've showered. DD and family are on Mull for the weekend, hope the weather doesn't get too bad for them as they're camping.
Shopping to do this morning then a trip out with a friend - she's going on holiday with her DD on Wednesday so there are last minute things to get. We will probably have lunch out too.
Any news on Rob's living arrangements Ruby?
Hoping everyone is doing well, take care. XX12 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @mehefin
Yesterday was cold and we had rain but only for a few minutes.
Lots to do in the garden, will have to order some more compost.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning all.
This cold is hanging about; it needs to shoo off now. Didn't feel so good yesterday but roused myself once DH and his sister got back and we wandered up the road for something to eat about 6pm.
I've done all the laundry and it's on the line. Today we're off to DGS's school after lunch to watch the Maypole dancing and general festivities. No doubt there will be cake to buy/eat. Might be fish and chips to share this evening.
love to all11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @mehefin x I’ve had a good few plants from WI and church plant sales so know how much hard work goes into organising it all. Hope you sleep better tonight x
I was in London at the theatre last night - a good play about cognitive impairment. Met the writer and lead actor afterwards in the bar!
A work day for me then a quiet evening in.Have a good day all

Morning everyone
I didn't get on yesterday as I had an early start at the hairdressers to get my hair cut and coloured...not my favourite way to spend a morning but I enjoyed reading my book. As one little boy commented when I went into nursery 'your white hair has changed colour!'
We had a lovely warm sunny afternoon for Sports Day...lots of parents there and our little ones did really well in their two races - running and egg and spoon. Little one too had a great afternoon though she was shattered by the end. It's times like that we really see the difference in her - the other children were still running around full of beans but she was exhausted. I got a hug after every race as she went back to her place.
This morning I'll go down to mam and dads and do the banking then last afternoon at work before our half term week, I'm planning on coming back and sitting in the sunshine before the weather changes.
Gers that's a lovely image of your mum, thanks for sharing your memories with us.
Right best get on - hope everyone has a good day x

Hi everyone,
Gers, I'm glad you were able to focus on some happy memories.
I just skimmed yesterday's thread, we had a Nate day so were very busy. We were going to take him to a playground and have a picnic but it felt bitterly cold where they are in the Fens. I swear the wind was direct from Siberia. Instead we took him to a huge soft play, talk about sensory overload, for me not him.
Today we are packing to go to Wales we'll go at Bedtime and have a overnight stop in Bristol. Wish us look, the house is very messy and I want it tidy before we go.
Have a good day.
PS everyone is a bit better but still not 100%.We ummed and aahed about going but decided to make the effort.10 -
Morning all
Dry here and the sun is trying to come out before rain which is due tomorrow and all weekend 🙄 I have some washing on the go so will hang that out once it’s done.
Dogs to be walked this morning and then I am off to get my nails done which is always a treat, this afternoon I am taking little dog for her summer groom she hates going but enjoys the feeling of short hair afterwards.
Dinner tonight will be chicken curry and rice I think I will do the one pan method in the oven, dd is at home today but on a zoom course so she will eat with us.
We can now get really good speed internet in the garden which pleases me no end, it’s the little things!Gers what lovely memories of your dear mum xx
Camelot still no news on Rob, I bet the sw leaves it till about 5.30 tonight before she sends the email and then legs it out of the door, having said that it would not surprise me if we don’t hear anything till next week or even later.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning allBack from from shopping. All put away and now coffee time. Managed to get some plants today so will put them in this afternoon. Plenty of rain due for the next couple of days so they won't need watering!Hoping our skip will be taken away some time today and then we won't have to play chess with the cars to find a parking space as there's only space for one on the drive at the momentHave a good day all and enjoy the sun while you can x7
