GDPR???? Amazon

Amazon delivered a parcel to my home address which was labelled my work address and left it on the doorstep!!! Amazon are blaming the courier but I'm saying they must have shared both addresses with them. The courier couldn't have just linked them somehow!!! Any advice? Im thinking a GDPR breach? Thoughts?

You can report your 'breach' here, but I don't think it'll fly as you must have given your work address to Amazon at some point, and the only reason to do that is so they can share with a courier in order to make a delivery.

Amazon used to dump parcels outside my house too; I found the most effective way of stopping this was to close my account. Worked a treat.

Before you report Amazon you'll have to dig deep into their Ts and Cs and find exactly what you have agreed about data sharing with their delivery partners, suppliers and Uncle Tom Cobley and all.

And if, just for the sake of argument it was a breach, what is it you would want Amazon to do to resolve this, or which further actions would you be looking to take?

Thanks. I wanted the parcel delivered to my work address. It turned up at my home address with my work address on it. It wasn't addressed to my home address so how could it turn up there. I don't mind it being outside of my house but perhaps I didn't want my neighbours to know where I work.... 🤔

You will have agreed for Amazon to share your personal data with third parties as this is necessary for them to deliver.  The fact they shared the wrong data doesn’t make it a breach - just an error.  If you got the items undamaged then I’m not sure what they need to do other than say sorry we messed up.

If you want to avoid this in future then I have two unlinked amazon accounts, each with a different delivery address. Not why I set it up (I get more free prime trials this way) but it may be a way around having things delivered to not where you want them to go.
Also click and collect which I prefer because my home address is not particularly safe for things to be left.

I doubt it's a data breach of any kind given they have your address anyway.
There's every chance it defaulted to the other address along the checkout process. It will do that with changes of payment card or any other little thing. You're unlikely to get Amazon to admit to it being their mistake and will have trouble proving it if they did.
