Hi i am unable to work now due to having to care for my father. I care for him around 50 hours a week and so recieve carers element ontop of uni credit. I sent my work coach a message asking if my putting in my resignation would it affect my claim and this is his relply.
If your are no longer working and caring for others you will need to report both of these circumstances on your account when this happens. I cannot say how this will affect your claim or entitlement until the changes are made and reflected on your statements.
So they know i have been on carers element since april second and that there is no income coming in so why would he say he could not say?

Because the work coach is poorly trained.
If you are receiving Carers Element then you have no work commitments for UC. No work commitments equal no sanctions if you stop work.1 -

Because it is not their decision to make. They may be 99.99% certain that there will be no problem, but they can't say that.

Should i hand my notice now and report a change or should i wait until my first payment comes through then hand notice and report a change? Its probably not going to make much difference but i was thinking of waiting just to be sure0

It sounds as if your work coach has misunderstood what you have said. They may have thought that you were giving up work and no longer caring for dad. Hence their comment on reporting both changes.1

If you are in the NWRR work group as a carer, the ending of your employment would not change this.
You'll still be entitled to UC (assuming no other changes).
I think perhaps the Work Coach has worded the reply poorly and instead means that they cannot easily predict what changes there will be to the award of Universal Credit and that will only be clear when future awards are calculated and statements produced.0
