faulty flooring.

Hello All.
I had a wooden floor laid in my new home in June 2024. Some of the "planks" are already begining to lift. I fear the whole floor may have to come up, which I am dreading.
I know many carpet/flooring businesses use self-employed tradesmen to do their work.
i intend to go to the business soon to raise the issue and I wanted to be armed with some facts as to who is responsible...the business or the fitter that they employed.
Any help much appreciated!

Who did you pay for the fitting? Was it the business or did you pay the fitter direct?0

Is it a suspended floor or a solid floor?0 -
The responsible party is whatever company you paid to do the work, as they are the ones you have a contract with. That said, if the problem is caused by an external issue such as damp or flooding, the actual responsibility for the problem could lie elsewhere. But definitely start with the company you paid for the fitting.0
