@Gers; has it really been 5 years? I remember that time and all that led up to it; some of us must have been posting here for at least a decade! Wishing you happy memories of your mum and we are still in awe of what you did for her.
Meanwhile, I am at home, poorly, and have let DH and his sister go off to the Cotswolds without me. I'm hoping it's only a nasty cold but would hate to pass it on as DS's wedding is at the end of the month. I did feel a bit better yesterday but maybe did too much so will take it easier today.
Allie: pleased it was removed relatively easily and I hope it heals up well.
I'm going to stay on the sofa a while longer and drink tea but will have to venture out for food provisions later. No - got it wrong! It's 'only' four years. I was counting 2021.
I'm trying to bring happy images to the front of my mind and push away the ones of Mum in her final hours. Sorry that you're still poorly, a summer cold is a nasty thing.@AA - that's good news. I had a couple burnt off a few years ago as well as the one cut out last month, seems I'm prone to these annoying things.@Ruby - good luck with the new extenders, hope it all goes smoothly.@Remmie - great that your dog is OK taking tablets, otherwise it'd be a struggle.8 -
Gers thinking of you today Enjoy the good memories of your DM. I have always enjoyed some of the stories you have told us about her Xx
Izzy happy holidays x
WL hope you start to feel better soon x
Snoozer hope things are getting better with the poorly household x
Mehefin hopefully the rain will start to help the ground for the horses.x
I went to a pop up shop and fashion show last night in aid of hospice care who looked after our friends DH who we lost in March. It was very good. I didn't buy anything for me ( need to reduce a few sizes for things to fit) but did get some bits for DD. Also won a raffle prize. I am trying to get involved with more activities as DH belongs to a few clubs and I need to meet more people.
Weather I'd going to change over the weekend so need to get a few more loads on the line. Have a good day all, hugs to all who want them.

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. Today we're supposed to have sunny intervals with a gentle breeze but so far it's cloudy. Cooler too, with top temperatures of just 15 deg and down to around 3 deg overnight.
Yesterday I got the inside windows cleaned and the clean curtains up; the ones that have been taken down need washing - maybe tomorrow as it's looking better weather-wise. Last night I watched a TV programme with David Suchet retracing Agatha Christie's 1922 tour around the world, starting with Africa. I enjoyed it very much and am looking forward to next week's episode.
Barring the daily chores (already done), no housework today. The postie brought an electoral form - apparently the rules have changed and anyone with a postal vote (like me) needs to re-register every three years. The deadline is sometime in January but I've filled in the form already. If I wait I'll either forget or lose the form.
I'll post that today along with a birthday card. Then on to the CS with a bag of donations and a browse while I'm there. I'll have a look in the M&S food hall too although I'm not sure what they will have in stock, thanks to the IT debacle.
Tonight's tea is a tuna & mushroom pasta bake but I might will forego afters. The scales are telling me I've put on some weight; not much, but enough to take action. I've been on a controlled diet for T2 diabetes for the last 6 years and want to keep it that way rather than have to take medication, plus I feel so much better without the excess 2.5 stones that I was carrying around.
@Scarlet - It's a shame they couldn't let you know your appointment had been cancelled before you got there; hopefully you can get a home visit soon.
@Chrisca - Happy new bathroom.
@Gers - Pleased to hear your appointment was OK'ish. Well done on tackling the IT stuff and, better still, the savings you've made. Cheers to your late DM.
@AA - Glad your procedure went so smoothly.
@WL and @Coxy - Rest up and nurse those ailments.
Right, I'm away on my travels but first need to decide do I need a jacket or not. Probably. Enjoy the day and take care. X
