Halifax Joint Savings Account Advice

Hello All
I hope everyone is well.
Me and my wife have had a joint current account with Halifax since 2016.
I opened an Everyday Saver account last week and rang Halifax to add my wife onto the account.
The lady I spoke to said their is no need for us to go to branch and all we have to do is sign the forms she is sending us and post them back and my wife will be added to my account.
My wife and I work different shifts so going into branch is really difficult anyway.

I was off work today and called into my local branch and they not very helpful, told me to sign the forms and chase up after a couple of weeks if the Everyday saver doesn't show up on my wifes app dashboard.

Has anyone else added someone onto their account this way and if so did you just sign the forms and send them back?

Thank you in advance for any replies and help

Not sure what the issue is here.

Have the forms arrived in the post?

Have you and your wife completed the forms, signed them and sent them back?

Why would you think that it's any more complicated than this?
  • Thank you
The forms should be with us by the end of the week.
I was just a little concerned as I have read that normally you have to pop into branch to do this which is difficult for me and my wife.
I was just asking if anyone else had added someone to their account this way by post instead of going onto branch.
I think I am overthinking things to be honest!

Is there any particular reason that you want a joint savings account with Halifax, when you could open one elsewhere paying 4 times the rate of interest that Halifax offer.
  • Thanks for the reply guys
Life has been really hectic with parents terminal illness lately so I will have a look when we get time.
To be honest we would just like to open one with who we bank with for ease for now

I am trying to do exactly this. First set of forms arrived with wrong details on, despite having given them all the correct details. Second and third forms requested have failed to arrive.

I think all you can do gd55 is keep on at them daily. I know it is a pain ringing or you can try the app. I popped into branch the other day and both members of staff were so rude it was untrue.
I will update how I get on in the end

Yeah I've put in two complaints now via the app. If still no form this weekend it's time for another request and complaint!
