Garden photography

I was going to post something on the awful weather thread but thought for those who don't take part that this would be missed and it's worthy of any keen gardeners or photographers seeing it.
We've obviously got to up our game to compete with this.

I wonder if there are any lurking who are keen on this subject?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c80kve8kr4noWhile the photos are magnificent, attempting to achieve perfection isn't something I'd be interested in doing. I'm grateful there are people out there who want to push boundaries in all fields of endeavour, but for me, gardening and photography are simply enjoyable activities, not competitive, all-consuming passions. For example, if there's a local show, I'll enter my best veg and flowers, but if someone else has better ones, it doesn't bother me. It's more important people take part, maintain traditions, and enjoy the social aspects of their lives."The photographer said it took six days to capture this image of a bank vole in his back garden." Good lad, but missed 6 days of gardening!

Lovely pics, but have to agree with Dusty, once it gets competitive I'm out.Kudos to those who are that passionate about it that it nearly consumes their lives, just not for me.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

I enjoy looking at any wildlife photo that has been taken 2P - the professional ones are breath-taking but I still have the same dopamine hit when I see some of the pics shared on the threads in the Gardening forum.
I love to sit and observe the wildlife in my garden but never seem to have my phone on me to catch anything quick enough to share the other day I sat very still the other day and took a few snaps of this little bird who'd been nibbling at the food and hopping around in the basket picking up the crumbs

They are stunning photos - some of creatures that I have never seen (let alone photographed!!) Six days? , well I would have starved and so would the dog!
I did take a lot of photos during lockdown of plants & insects in my garden which were well received as I emailed them to friends. Just now saw a large bee collecting pollen from an orange Welsh poppy & thought 'that would make a great photo!' but I didn't have my camera with me. This was actually before I read this thread.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

It was posted just for a bit of fun and maybe ideas 🙂
I didn't even know some of it was possible.
Cute bird WM. Hard to believe they are endangered when they used to be the most prolific.
More overgrown gardens needed 😁I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I agree with others - they're beautiful to look at and I love that some people have the time and patience to capture pics like that but it's not something I'm interested in doing myself. I like the natural ones that folk take
I'm never sure if some of them are AI or not, like the first one in that link.
I did have a link saved (gone now) that was called something like 'Comical Wildlife Photography Awards' or similar - that was always good fun to read
