GAP insurance for car aged 4 years +

I've recently had good experience with a GAP insurance pay out. Sadly my car was written off after just 8months -no fault. I was paid out with no hassle. Unfortunately my garage no longer provides GAP. I'm looking for another insurer however have discovered if car over 4 years old the most recommend companies wont provide it for a car that age. So I'm trying to find a reliable company where i can purchase GAP for a 6 year old car. Any advice or sensible snippets of info would be be valuable.

Is gap worth it at that age? Afaik, it’s to cover the “gap” between the cost of the car and what you would get if the car is written off.  As the bulk of the drop off in value of the car is across the first 3 years, so there should be nothing to cover the gap?
