Uc help regarding question of board

Hi I’m currently filling out the form to migrate to uc one of the questions is about board money which I receive from my adult son who is disabled. His board he pays me is quite high a month (£350) but £100 of that is for his mobile phone contract in my name and Spotify again in my name is as part of his disability is he won’t speak to people he dosnt know well ( Autistic learning disability) how do answer this as I don’t get £350 I get £250 but £350 is paid into my account to cover the above mentioned things .

Weird, I don't know why they ask that because it's not taken into account for UC.

And it shouldn't matter what you actually spend it on because it's board, for expenses living there, the whole point of it is that you spend it anyway.

It was asked on the application form - do you receive any income from board or lodgers but I wasn’t sure if what I receive counts. Thanks

The question is about if you let/rent out a room to someone.
It isn't about a contribution to household expenses paid by a family member.

"Boarders and lodgers" means people who rent a room from you on a commercial basis. Both would normally have some sort of tenancy or rental agreement. The money your son gives you each month might be termed "board money" but it's essentially a contribution towards the household bills and doesn't need to be declared. Instead your son would be treated as a non-dependant.
  • I see  thank you ,it confused me when it asked about board and I didn’t want to not declare it but then when they ask for bank statements it shows as my sons money going in each month and I hadn’t mentioned it .
