West Brom Savings account

I've just opened a new savings account. And just discovered all I need to login is a/c no, DOB and a 4 digit pin number. This seems far too lax on security. I really don't want to invest now.

More rigorous than getting cash out of an ATM though....#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

To withdraw money you will need a nominated bank account and enter a one-time passcode.1

It's one-time-passcode to yr phone to w/d to your nominated account - and/or to make changes to personal details.
It's like lots of others - Santander, Cov BS etc. - you can see your accounts but you can't do owt with them unless 2nd level of authentication.1 -
Agree it's not ideal, all you can do is make that PIN unique and not 0000 nor 1234.
Would take a bot no time to run through all possible PINs, one can only hope that WestBrom would lock the account after a few attempts.0 -
Seeing the comments on withdrawals I'm a bit happier. Thank you!0
