ZZPS parking fine 5yrs ago my ex wife’s car

Hello all had a letter from ZZPS action required letter for £170 for a what I can see unpaid parking fine. Thing is the contravention date 15th feb 2020 just after her birthday. Now we are now separated have been living in our own houses for 20 months now car was her car v5 in her name but to this address as I brought her out of the house. Car chain snapped so was sold on eBay as non runner cant remember date. What should I do 5 yrs is a long time. Should I just ignore? Letter is address to me not her name. Thanks Leigh

Perhaps she has named you as the driver on that date?  Granted it is a long time.

ZZPS can be ignored, you need to wait for a Letter of Claim.  Who issued the charge?  ZZPS don't issue directly, they are working for a parking company.

That wasn't the question, the question was; Perhaps she has named you as the driver on that date?

    It is not a fine.

Debt collectors are powerless and can safely be ignored.

If you do nothing, the parking company will revert to chasing the vehicle keeper. You could tell your ex to visit this forum and start her own thread if you wish.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

Yeah sorry. Read questions through twice Leigh my mum used to say.. my wife and I were pretty good at parking correctly. Should we have got a fine we would have paid as soon as possible for reduced rate and to clear it. Done ✔️
the question is can they go this far back? 5yrs 3months? Should I contact her go halves and pay it?

It isn't a "fine" it's a speculative charge or invoice from chancers that have devised ways to skim money from people with terms and conditions, and a contract to cover as many pitfalls as they can to get as much money as they can.
The "reduced rate" is a bribe to get you to pay up and shut up so they get their money quickly with as little fuss and outlay as possible.
Yes they can go back up to six years.
They are not an authority just a two bit parking company.
Why would you pay an invoice for something you know nothing about?

    Errr...surely you wouldn't?! Nonono.

You don't PAY invoices from private parking firms! Why on earth are you talking about paying a scam?

You need to read the FOURTH post of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST.

Learn what these fake PCNs and daft threatograms actually are. These aren't 'fines'. My goodness you do not just pay a scam invoice.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
