Smart Parking UK

Hi, we were in Belfast August 2023 and had a hire car, 20 months later we got a Debt Recovery letter (we live in England) but no Parking Charge Notice was ever sent to us or ANY communication from Smart Parking UK, only this Debt Recovery letter. We appealed on the website of Smart Parking even through we were aware this is well out of time and didn't expect a reply at all. We have now received a 2nd Debt recovery letter saying if we ignore this one we will be taken to court. BPA have not responded to us for any advice. Any help would be appreciated. We were parked at Airport Way, near Belfast International Airport at M&S free parking but didn't see the sign. Rang debt recovery, they said we only deal with the client Smart Parking.......This is so unfair

Why are you ringing DR Plus? Nobody phones them! Ignore them and Smart. See the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.
Also, their threats are hot air.
- Not only do Smart never sue anyone (we don't think they have the right to litigate and only act as agents on behalf of landowners under limited service agreements) but
- this was in Belfast so the case cannot be determined in the English County courts.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
