Good morning
The suns shining now, but it was raining overnight good for the garden.
I went to visit MrsND yesterday, at her request. She is really struggling but trying to stay positive. She has lost so much weight and all her beautiful hair is gone. She is home for 2 weeks, although with the district nurse calling in, then returns to hospital for another 5 weeks of gruelling treatment. Fingers crossed for her.
We are also having pork chops tonight. I'm going to try doing them in a tray bake with mushrooms, onions and peppers, and some new potatoes thrown in for OH.
Ruby, I hope Rob can stay where he is, it's obviously better for him.
Izzy enjoy your holiday and please resist the urge to push hubby overboard!
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all who need the. Take care.11 -

Camelot, ouch, hope it heals quickly! TA, hope you've sorted some temporary specs. Ruby, fingers crossed. But if his mother isn't capable of looking after herself surely they can't say she can look after Rob too? Izzy, one more day to go!to yuor diamond backside but keep him till you've plucked them out! Scarlet, huzzah to the last radio session too. Gers, happy new dish! And fingers crossed for hip result. Allie, won't they burn them off? They did that for Ohs, left a scar though. Take care today all....

Morning folks and thanks GERS. My posting is still hit and miss, sorry. I fished out some old specs from pre cataract days but they don't help with reading/typing so still zooming screen which makes it marginally easier.
We are not forecast any rain until Saturday and I can't remember when we last had any. Today is sunny which is nice as it's bus ride day (aka Skipton day!)
Bigger update from DF yesterday on her DS's op. He was in theatre for 9 hours and the surgeon is happy with his progress. Still in intensive care for another few days as his mouth needs constant checking. His DP is being very good at keeping them up to date and sent a couple of pics of him waving. He isn't allowed to try to speak but the smile at the camera cheered DF up.
I finally got the petunias potted up yesterday. Still some left. Why did I buy so many?! Then another water of all the other pots, back and front. Roll on the rain to give me a reprieve from hosing. Have a good day folks if you can. I hope all goes well AA. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Good morning from Mehefinland
Rain, blessed rain, at last. I was starting to get worried about the nags as the ground is like concrete and the last thing I need is foot problems. However, farrier came yesterday for the usual stuff and said they are ok. This rain will soften everything up a bit as it is currently gentle stuff so will hopefully soak in and not bounce off the surface. The downside is that it will bring on the growth of grass, so I will have to make sure the so and so's don't get too fat. Just a another problem to contend withAt least I won't need to water the garden for a few days..speaking of which:
Got a free water butt and stand for the library off FB last night. Just need to 'plumb' it in. We don't have an outside tap so it is a pain bringing small containers from indoors particularly as the sink is very small and no room for a decent watering can to be filled. Can't even put a hose connector on it as it's one of those mini mixer taps!
Bought a pile of trees from the Woodland trust to go in the field but with the ground so hard had to pot them all up until I can position them in the autumn. They are a good size too - I was expecting twigs but they are quite well established and growing well. Gives me a bit more time to prepare and think what I want, where .
Derek's garden centre is gradually relocating to the library - took a load down on Saturday and more Monday. The craft club ladies pounced on them - must check what is left and replenish. Our official plant sale isn't until June 14th and some of these will be way too big by then so it is beneficial to sell now. Anyone want some sunflowers? I think the whole lot germinated. More than can be said for some of my other ventures.
Had a dirty day this week and burnt a pile of mouldy hay at the field, then cleaned out the Rayburn. Everything in the wash (including me lol) and all dried nicely by teatime.
Hugs and spoons as always.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the update TA, enjoy your day.
Ruby, fingers crossed for the right outcome for Rob.
I missed yesterday, I had a migraine just to add to the levels of sickness. The Dr has swabbed Esben's throat so we're waiting for the results of that. Brian has a chest infection and is off the the Hay festival today. The rest of us need to get ready to go to Wales on Friday, we're stopping off in Bristol on the way.
I need to make some granola, Esther is obsessed with it at the moment and it's virtually the only thing she'll eat for breakfast. It's made with dates instead of honey or syrup so it's healthier than the shop versions.
Have a good day.12 -
Mornlng everyone
I've just put a load of washing as it's to be dry today - we don't have rain forecast until Saturday...and then showers all next week when we're on school holidays.
Yesterday was dull in the morning then lovely all afternoon...it looks like today will be the same.
Gers - I had the same problem with Amazon last week I tried clicking I need more help but still had the bo t so then I typed in I need an advisor a couple of times and got one. Always do get excellent service when I get through though.
Izzy - I hope you have a wonderful holiday and your nerves settle once yo get away.
Mehefin - I wish I could come to your plant sale.
Sorry must dash as I said I'd go down to nursery this morning as we are doing a sponsored treasure hunt...should be great fun for the little ones. Then I have shopping to do, more planting and then I might read my Sunday Times!
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all. Lots of high cloud at the moment but sunny intervals are expected this afternoon, no rain. It should be a little cooler too which suits me just fine as I'll be spending a fair bit of time up and down the stepladder cleaning the inside of the living room windows and curtain rails before hanging clean curtains.
I didn't get on here on Monday (painting finally finished) or yesterday as I was at a BBQ at DS and partner's house. They have a small courtyard that's a real suntrap and it was so hot I had to keep moving around into the shade. I don't do the lobster look! There are still a few small jobs to do in the living room to finish it off completely but I can do them in my own time on an as and when basis but I'm aiming for the end of the month. Energy bill arrived yesterday and, although never welcome, I was pleased with the amount. Easy tea tonight of fish fingers and mushy peas with a bowl of fresh fruit salad for afters.
@Gers - Fingers crossed your appointment with the hip surgeon will bring better news than you're expecting.
@AA - Good luck with the removal of the skin lesions, any scars will soon fade.
@Ruby - I hope Rob can stay where he is, he seems to be thriving there.
@Izzy - Happy holidays, you'll be fine.
@remmie - It's tough for your NDN and I'm sure your visits are most welcome.
@TA - That's encouraging news for your DF and good that DS's partner keeps her up to date. Enjoy Skipton today.
@mehefin - I see you're as busy as ever!
Time to make a move so I'll wish you all a good day. Hugs where needed, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
@snoozer - I hope you have a good trip to Wales. I have been to Hay 7 times - but always avoiding the Festival. Would love to go again.7
