Hi, I hope you guys can help me.
I recently received a money claim by G24 limited for Exceeding the maximum duration of stay at Wickes.
This parking fine is from 2019, I remember getting a parking fine letter from wickes back in 2019, at the time of the parking I was at wickes for a kitchen design appointment, so I took the parking fine to wickes and they said they will cancel the fine, since then I never received any letters regarding this.
Now in April 2025 I get a letter from G24 for a money claim for £341.20 (original parking charge PC and damages was £170).
On the 30/04/25 I filed a acknowledgment to defend all of this claim, I only have until 28th May to file a defence but I have no idea what to say. If I just say I was at wickes for a kitchen design and that wickes said they cancelled the parking charge, would that be OK. I have no proof that I was at wickes for a kichen design as I didnt buy the kitchen from wickes and I have no emails confirming my appointment.
How should I proceed, would really appreciate some support. I only have a week to reply.

Defence to use is here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6108153/template-defence-to-adapt-for-all-parking-cases-with-added-admin-dra-costs-edited-in-2024#latestFor paragraph 3 just say something like:
The defendant was inside Wickes for the whole duration the car was parked, taking part in a kitchen design appointment, which can obviously take time. A PCN was later received from the claimant and so the defendant contacted Wickes who apologised and stated they would cancel the "fine". Confirmation of this was demonstrated by the fact no further letters were received from G24, nor any debt collection letters, nor any notification that the charge had somehow increased from £100 to £170. There quite clearly has been no loss to claimant, or "recovery fees" paid out by the claimant as their outlay has amounted to sending one single letter and to claim otherwise is completely disingenuous. You don't need proof, the onus is on the other side to prove their case.Anyway, they'll just discontinue in the end anyway. First discontinuances for the recent barrage ancient G24 cases will probably come through towards the end of summer.1 -

That is the POC. I've redacted the password. Read other threads like yours, e.g.

With a Claim Issue Date of 24th April, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service('AOS') in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 27th May 2025 to file a Defence. That's just a couple of days away but plenty of time to produce a Defence.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an AOS has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2
