I suppose I could have qualified that by saying that after (probably) 6 years the retailer would cease to have a right to recover the cost. So for all practical purposes it would cease to be an issue then, but still technically doesn't mean that the recipient has good title.DE_612183 said:

Is it really theft though?DE_612183 said:well they are not yours, and you know they are not, and you haven't paid for them - so yes you should send then back - to keep them is theft.
However if you are asking - what are the chances of me being found out - I would guess quite slim....
That sounds like what the OP is saying they want to do.

I would just let them know and see what they say. Most likely they will tell you to just keep the parcel. I don't think they can expect you to go to the post office to send this back to them or inconvenience you in any way. If they try just ask if you will be compensated since you do not work for them. They will have to send someone just to collect the item and come at a convenient time. Whatever the item is I would not risk breaking the law just to keep a silly item.0

Are the contents of the parcel cheap tat? If so it might be a bit of opportunistic brushing.

It's not theft until the six week period is up. Then you can keep it.MeteredOut said:

You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.
