Shurgard won't rent to me as driving licence and passport out of date. Any good alternatives?

Hi, I'm a pensioner in the nightmare situation of going through a 'no fault' eviction in the current housing crisis. I haven't found anywhere to move to yet because of the severe housing shortage in Greater London. I tried renting some self storage from Shurgard, but they told me the only ID they accept is a passport or driving licence. As a pensioner these have both expired as no longer needed at my age. They refused to accept my freedom pass, or my birth certificate or letters from banks, building societies or the council. So it looks like all my worldly possessions will be crammed into a tiny flat along with me if I eventually find somewhere to move to. Does anyone know an alternative storage company with slightly less strict ID policies?

Might be quicker/simpler just to renew one of the IDs? Driving licence should be cheaper (assuming you don't have medical reasons preventing you from driving).3

You'll realise that the "no fault", no reason at all s21 eviction notice (brought in by Thatcher) does not end tenancy nor compel tenant to leave.
For landlord to force eviction requires court hearing etc , probably takes about 6 months from s21 service.
Landlord may be willing to "encourage" you to leave with£££_£££____.
So you'll have more time than you may have thought.
Sorry this is happening. Best wishes & good luck.2 -

My renewed driving license came back within a week. I only possess a passport for its ID purposes. You're likely to need ID to rent somewhere as well.
Sorry you're in thus situation, I know first hand how hard it is to find somewhere at the moment1 -
