Morning all.
DH now has his sister over and we enjoyed a super Sunday roast at the pub yesterday. I ended up having creme brulee afterwards; just enough to feel I'd had a pud but not leaving me overwhelmingly full. She went to bed at 8pm mind; having done well to stay awake that long. The only sad thing is that DH's cousin in Canada won't now be coming to the wedding as he's awaiting the results of a biopsy. DSiL is obviously disappointed as she hasn't met up with him for many years.
Whilst we were strolling yesterday we came across some trees covered in a white fluff, with lots of caterpillars crawling inside. It looked rather spooky. I took a photo and posted it on our local FB page and it turns out they are ermine moths; common at this time of year and won't cause any harm to the trees. We'd never seen them before and it gave the trees a very ghostly appearance.
Today we have to go and sort her out a Sim card for use whilst over here and then will be going to visit DD and family. I've made a large lasagne and will buy french bread whilst we're out. DD is organising salad and coleslaw so should be plenty for all.
I hope everyone is ok; happy Monday all!13 -
Morning all! Been busy in the garden and allotment and various other things. the sun is not shining today, but it's dry so that's fine . To be honest, it'd be fine if it were raining too. diabetic eye screening today, after which a sit down until eyes return to normal. where I used to work there was a drug that would make your pupils pop open and stay open for hours, was a bit of a nightmare if you got it in your eye. Exactly like this...No idea what's for supper, haven't planned anything yet.TA, hope it all goes as swiftly and as easily as possible for him. Gers, sounds like a fun afternoon
Izzy, have a fabulous time, you will be fine and you will have a great time [ and then you'll graduate to big big cruises, find a richer man, overthrow this husband and live the rest of your life dripping in diamonds
snoozer, hope it's a bit better helath wise for you all! Nanny, hope it's all going ok for you and your father isn't being too much of a trial...Ruby, enjoy the day! Allie, you too! actually, everyone enjoy their day if you can!

Morning everyone
Dull and dreary here this morning, it was yesterday too..
I went out for lunch with DD and little one yesterday, lovely roast lunches with big Yorkshire puddings - pork for DD and I had turkey. Little one chose macaroni cheese and garlic bread and we got extra pigs in blankets so she could have a couple. Then we shared a warm chocolate brownie and ice cream, which was delicious.
Once home, I should have really got on with some garden jobs, but sat and read my book instead...a lovely lazy afternoon.
Redruby - I made little one an omelette for her breakfast on Saturday, so we had the whole 'right time to eat omelettes' conversation again. She's off out to the local lifeboat station with her class this morning and then they're going to have a play in the nearby park...she's very excited as she missed the last tri.
Gers your afternoon sounds lovely.
Right I'm going to get on with some of the jobs I didn't do yesterday, before it's time for work.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Hi everyone,
TA thanks for the update, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
Gers, what a lovely day, I envy you.
All is peaceful at the moment, Laura has gone in to see one client and Steve is at Chris and Crystal's. Brian is working upstairs so I won't see much of him. He's been to the Dr and has antibiotics for a chest infection. Laura is going back later because she's finished her course but isn't convinced they've done the trick. She's also taking Esben because he's been complaining of tiredness all weekend and said this morning that he just wanted to lie down with his head on a pillow, not like him at all. He went off to school happily enough. Esther also went into nursery happily after over a year of tears and sometimes screams. She's happy enough there but hates the separation.
Anyway I must go and empty the shopping bags, some sort of mushroom and butternut squash Thai thing for dinner.
Have a good day.9 -
