Good morning, thanks Gers.
The weather doesn't look very promising. Yesterday was cold and grey.
We didn't go out at all, but I'll have to go out this morning, I need bread and there's a bag to go to the charity shop.
At some point I need to go through all my card making stuff, any materials that I don't need will be welcomed by the library, one of the library assistants runs craft sessions for children. I have quite a bit of Christmas crafty stuff ( sorry to mention Christmas!) that I've bought over the years for the grandchildren to use, but the youngest gc isn't into that kind of thing now.
I won't get that done today though, I never get as much done as I think I will!
Hope everyone is all right and has good days - take care folks.12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. The sun is in hiding again today and yesterday felt decidedly chilly. It's due back tomorrow apparently!
My posting is a bit hit and miss since the cataract op as reading is still difficult. I shall just have to put up with it until after the left eye is done and I can then test for new specs. I am having to post on zoom. I got some cheapo reading glasses on Saturday and they do help with reading books/mags but not the internet. It's so frustrating.
I am sitting with bated breath awaiting an update from DF on how her DS's op went. It was through the night our time, obviously day time there, so I doubt she got much sleep, waiting and worrying.
No plans for today but I really should get on with potting up the petunias that have been sitting in the kitchen for a week. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. SNOOZER I hope Laura is soon geeling better. The a/bs should soon do their stuff hopefully. Happy holiday to IZZIE, Take care all, xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning Gers and all to follow
Its a little bit dull and overcast here today hopefully it will brighten up later.
I have Rob coming today and we are going to meet our friends and have a walk around the lake and a picnic with possibly an ice cream, there are lots of baby wild fowl atm so should be nice.
I need to hoover this morning and hang the washing once it’s finished, I did end up doing the shopping yesterday so no need to do that this morning. I have my pension meeting this afternoon as well but they said it will only take 10 minutes it’s only really to give my consent to them tracing on my behalf.
Omelette for dinner tonight (DP1 I always think of little one’s disapproval now 😂) with chips and salad nice quick dinner, dd on an early so she will be here for dinner.
Izzy I’m not sure when you are off but have a great holiday xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning allCloudy this morning and cool. Supposed to be sunny later though. We shall see.Bathroom man will be here in an hour or so, so I'd better go and clear the bathroom out for him. Will water the garden later and then I think I'll give all the kitchen surfaces a good clean to keep me busy as I won't have the run of the house today.Hope Izzy has a relaxing holiday and everyone has a good day x11

Hi all
TA - hope things improve and you don’t have to wait too long for the other eye
Yesterday was lovely - nice forest walk then some gardening.Back at the invigilation today - think it’s a long one this morning which doesn’t fill me with joy. Some curtain making later if there’s time though there are windows to clean (inside) too ahead of a dear friend of DMs visiting at the weekend.Enjoy your week

Good morning
A dull grey start yesterday the sun put in a brief appearance around 3PM, but not enough to warm up much.
Mrs ND came home over the weekend after almost 6 weeks of intensive treatment. I haven't seen her yet waiting until she's ready, but Mr ND says his cooking will make her feel better, bless him.
Today I need to ring the vet its time for big dogs yearly check up and booster jab. He gets so stressed that last year the vet said they could give him some medication to calm him, so need to sort that out. Other than that only the usual chores.
Tea tonight will be picky bits that needs using up. Yesterday I actually made 2 steak and kidney pies, 1 for last night a.nd 1 for the freezer.
TA, I hope the news from Australia is positive, and take it easy and look after yourself.
Have a good day all, hugs to all who need them. Take care.12 -
Good morning
Got up early as thought I was in work for a few hours today but I have physio this afternoon so I don’t need to go in.
very cloudy and cold today here so will potter around indoors. My shoulder is very sore since I worked last week so hoping the physio will be able to help.
Dinner tonight will be leftovers either chilli or cottage pie, will see which DS2 wants as I’m not bothered.
Went to the Young Farmers show which was local, it was very good and I resisted buying any plants but bought some local honey.
Snoozer - hope Laura starts to feel better soon and that your pain also eases.
TA - hope your eyesight improves for reading.
Enjoy the rest of your day. Take Care14 -

@RedRuby - I'm glad that you're not feeling so ill. Thanks for the lovely memory of DP1's little one.

I remember a friend of mine being so sad when her DGD stopped wanting to craft, it was a big part of their relationship. This morning started overcast and now the sky is clearing of cloud. The sunset last night was spectacular so I have high hopes. My treat yesterday was to finally mow the grass! It was so dry that I did a high cut and didn't collect the cuttings. I felt unreasonably virtuous especially as it only took me about 10 minutes. Then I took my black rubbish bag to the tip. On the way home I bumped into the chap up the hill so we stopped cars to chat for a few minutes.I enjoyed my lunch of liver, mash, peas, mushrooms and loads of fried onions, one of my favourites. Just as I was digesting that my friend who lives about 15 miles away rang to say that he had sailed down and was anchored at the bottom of the 'big house'. I went up to meet him as he rowed ashore, landed his dinghy and clambered up the rocky shoreside, such and unexpected pleasure. Whilst we were chatting the chap up the hill arrived, again he stopped to chat as he knew my friend too. We ended up being invited to the big house for drinks later in the afternoon - another unexpected pleasure. He had also invited the guests in two holiday cottages so it was a lively couple of hours.Today will be a return to the mundane. I have my exercise class in a couple of hours, lunch and then sloth. I hope that everyone has a great day with at least some sunshine. Hugs to all.
