AirPods charging case

Hi everyone,

In November I purchased 2nd gen AirPods Pro from Costco for £160.

The USB C charging case is now not allowing any USB C cable to connect/hold to the port. I can't see any debris stopping the cables connecting and the case, like the buds, have been well looked after.

Would this be something to contact Costco over: do I have rights about the durability expectations of a charging case? While I can still charge wirelessly, obviously it's preferable to have functional charging port and none of my cheap and cheerful ones have ever had such an issue.

Any guidance much appreciated.

That is almost certainly fluff in the bottom of the port, unless the middle part of the USB port has been damaged and is out of alignment or missing.

    Thanks for the responses.

Using a torch and magnifying glass I see no debris in the port. It appears aligned horizontally too but cables simply don't attach.

I've also just found a post on Apple community with this issue on the same product and it has >250  clicking 'me too' on the post.

I'll give Costco a ring and see what they say.

Bear in mind that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if an item fails within 6 months of purchase (ie when you took possession of it) then there is a legal presumption that the item was faulty when you bought it - unless the seller can prove the contrary.

So what date in November did you buy it or have it delivered to you?

To update the thread with a conclusion, I spoke to Costco customer service yesterday. They've arranged to collect the AirPods from me on the basis of a full refund, the option they said was available to me. So that's great.

I appreciate the responses and the information. (Okell, on your question, they are less than 6 months old from both order and delivery date.)

    Thank You, all.
