My workplace has an carpark and has motorcycle bays but sadly they have these 6 lined speed bumps that keep bouncing my moped up and down. Sadly when left carpark notice my gearbox keeps rotating up and down and caused my moped to drive on it’s own never had problem used carpark for months and months and when left home this morning everything was working. I think that these lined speed bumps after many months caused screw to become loose and need advice on how to deal with it work with nhs and carpark owned by nhs. I have to take my moped to the garage to change the screw hopefully they won’t charge me but can I claim of my workplace if do get charged if I can proof that those bumps make screw come unloose

......no....................and not sure how you could possibly "prove it" anyway......."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

Sounds like your moped is defective if going over speed humps loosens screws. Maybe get your garage to put some thread lock on the screw when they put it back in. Don’t see this as your employers problem unless this is a common issue and the humps are outside design guidelines.0

I have fixed it myself removed the screws to gearbox thing and all the inside screws was still in place and just need tighting and its all better. But these humps in carpark could made vibration to screws and uk roads with potwholes and grids wont help the matter!Nobbie1967 said:Sounds like your moped is defective if going over speed humps loosens screws. Sounds to me like you need to go slower over the bumps
I don’t think you have a claim
its your job to make sure your moped is roadworthy everytime you ride it , so you could have preempted the screw coming loose0 -

Always doing Checks on moped before driving to work, Also drive within speed limit over speed bumps do not want to be banned from driving when am learner. It's rare that I go over a speed bump at the relevant speed limits, my car would not be happy. My work has the style of bumps in your picture, though not so close together and I need to creep over them to avoid feeling that the car is hitting something. So don't assume that the limit indicates a sensible speed over any bump.XxDarkMarioxX said:
I go the speed limit when go over bumps so please do not assume that going fast over them because do not want my wheels to come off or get hurt and get points on my licence when am only a learner and i taken good care of my moped and do not have xray vision to see the screws inside gearbox thing. Plus i always check before riding that my moped is roadworthy. Only notice the problem when drove over something on the road and gearbox that has mirror attched moved and spent 20 mins on road inspecting lucky enough got home safe and sound and fixed it. Only thing need to do now is to make sure to reduce the vibrations . My route to work is full of potholes and grids and speedbumps and carpark humps bounces my moped up and down at 2MPHphotome said:Sounds to me like you need to go slower over the bumps

I feel sick going over them since there that bouncy they even installed full speed bump before you enter carpark and then get hit with these. Going to speak with carpark team to see if there been any reports from other moped userskimwp said:

This is the speed bumps only need to drive 2MPH and feel sickA moped has a much shorter wheelbase than a car, and so yes the ride over bumps like those will seem much choppier than a car driver would expect. But all the same, it shouldn't be enough vibration to shake screws loose inside your 'ped.Glad to know you've fixed it for now. If it happens again you can try some threadlock; something like this (other brands and stores are available):N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile.
