House Insurance Problem due to previous Claim

We purchased our house in 1999 and within the documentation it was stated the house had work carried out due to tree route damage. In 2004 we noted cracks in the plaster works and asked for a survey, it was noted there was movement of the house and the cracks were cosmetic. We've had no issues or reason to contact our insurer since.
We have always stayed with the same broker due to the previous issues but in recent years the policy has increased substantially - now £2000 for buildings and contents.for a 4 bedroom detached house.
We tried a different broker and sent all the previous documents - the quote was a similar price. We have lived in the house for over 25 years, made no claims for tree damage or subsidence.
On completing a comparison site with all the information including the previous claims in 1998, the policy is around £1000.
How do I ensure I'm still insured correctly, I'm nervous about switching due to the alternate broker quote. Any advice on how to proceed?

Online comparison sites may not be collecting all the information required for accurate pricing in your situation. You could certainly use such sites to find potential insurers, but then deal direct with that insurer to ensure there are no gaps or misunderstandings.0
