Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's cloudy here, probably a bit chilly as well.
We had a pleasant afternoon with friends yesterday at a birthday party, met up with friends that we hadn't seen since last year. It was very nice.
No plans for today though, just a bit of housework.
Hope everyone's ok and has a good day.
Take care folks.15 -

The sun is probably going to come out again today even though it's a tad chilly just now. I have high hopes for the day.Saturday was lovely if rather quiet. I planned to go out for breakfast - didn't. I planned to go for a walk - didn't. I planned to cut the grass and water the roses - didn't! All those possibilities are now available for today.
There are other options, such as a farmer's market and a beach event at the ruined church I was at the other day. Unfortunately, they all require mixing with other people in a crowded place and I'm not that keen on that.
It's my eldest great-niece's 11th birthday across in Oz so I've sent my happiness vibes across there. They are having a dreadfully rainy time, more water is falling than ever before, perhaps they have ours.I hope that all those who have had a bad time with sleep managed to catch up last night and that the poorlies are having a better day. Hugs to all.11 -
Morning All
The sun has been shining since silly o'clock when I woke up and looks as if it's going to be another scorcher. I gave up yesterday and sat out with the sunshade up and finished a book I was reading. Work in the greenhouse came to a halt as I was melting!
Bedding from the spare bed that the little one and I use when she stays is in the WM, bathroom mats to do too. I've dusted in the living room - that hasn't been done for weeks! I'll hoover and mop the floors later, don't want to disturb next door with the hoover just yet.
I've veggie plants to take to a friend and water allotment 2, I think it's going to be too hot to do any digging there today.
Hope you're all well and have a very peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX8 -
Hi everyone,
Welcome to the house of sickness. I can't remember when I posted last things have been rather hectic, compounded by the fact that I'm averaging about four hours sleep a night. Poor Laura has pneumonia but is now getting better on the antibiotics. Not to be outdone Brian has also come down with some sort of virus. I seem to have developed tendonitis in my elbow, probably associated with lifting Esther and I can't really straighten my arm.
Enough doom and gloom, the children are still a delight. Esther was helpin Steve in the garden wearing an oversize gardening glove like a baseball mitt, after every weed though she insisted on them returning to the shed for a rest.
Laura's cancelled her appointments for tomorrow and Tuesday so hopefully she'll be feeling better by the time we go to Wales next weekend.
Have a good day.13 -
Morning all, thanks to the early birds for today's thread. We have high cloud cover this morning but a few patches of blue are showing so maybe we will get the sunny intervals that are forecast. It may have rained a little overnight as the ground looks rather damp but there again it could have been early morning mist.
DS will be here in about half an hour and I think (hope) we can get the decorating finished today. After he left yesterday I got the sewing machine out and sewed six inner liners for some new cushion pads that have been waiting to be used for quite some time. The old pads are extremely flat and no longer comfortable. I've picked out some fabric from my stash for the cushion covers - a sewing job for the coming week.
Last night I ended up watching a repeat of a Brokenwood Mystery followed by an Aurora Teagarden TV film, both light weight detective fluff that don't need much brain activity.Tonight's offerings look slightly better; the new ITV drama The Silence sounds promising. Corned beef hash and dumplings for tea, afters undecided as yet.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday and a good night's sleep. Take care, hugs as usual (especially to @snoozer c/o the House of Sickness). XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Good morning all from a sunny Mehefinland
OK so who's kidnapped the Sandman? Nanny? All good intentions went put of the window last night as I had a mini snoozette in the afternoon ( as you do) and then was wide awake all evening. Even suffered the end of Eurovision - glad to say I missed the songs though(Who's turning into an old grump -moi?).
Took some plants to the library to start off the plant sale season - some that needed to go as they would be mahoosive come mid June and I need the room. Cosmos flew off the shelves like hot cakes , so I will take some more down later . Every penny helps keep it open. The back garden looks like a garden centre at the moment, hardly room to move. Will have to rejig it all so I can cut the grass soon. Spent an hour weeding the grounds whilst there and filled 2 huge green waste bags. Could have done more but my back decided 'enough'! It looks a bit more presentable now though.
The field is a mass of buttercup - very pretty but a pain. I had pollen up to my knees yesterday after rounding up a certain fat pony. It has just burst into blossom in the last week. The pollinators will enjoy it whist it lasts.
Bought 2 curly willow from a lady in the next village who was raising funds for MSF or similar ( I forget which). Good size seedlings which I will grow on and plant out in the autumn. Also bought a selection of trees from the Woodland Trust in their end of season sale. Unfortunately the ground is so hard and dry I couldn't plant them, so have had to pot them up too. The side passage is like a mini woodland at the moment!
Hope you poodles are on the recovery road. Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning all
I didn't sleep well last night, probably because of sister in law's imminent arrival, so feel a bit rubbish this morning. DH is currently waiting patiently in Arrivals at LHR and SIL is waiting patiently for her luggage to appear on the carouselthen it's a 2hr drive back here.
The weather isn't great here this morning but I'm hoping it warms up later. Yesterday turned out to be lovely after lunch and we had a very appreciative audience when dancing at the church fete.
Wishing everyone a Sunday of rest and recovery.
