    Just something to remember if / when you start looking again.. there'll always be some compromise or another.  its important to decide which of the wishlist you're willing to compromise on - maybe the garden wasn't it. But that means you'll need to compromise on something else or continue renting.

    Absolutely, there is always a compromise.  I have now found a house with a beautiful garden.  It's an ideal location with plenty of space but the compromise is that it is very dated inside so will need a some modernisation, a new kitchen & bathroom.
