Cabling for console - advice please

Hi all,
Just about to renovate our front room and need advice on how to avoid horrible cables everywhere!

We’ve an old gas fire in a fireplace we are removing, so will have an empty fireplace with a chimney breast.

Plan is for the TV to be on the chimney breast. My son will use the room to play his PS console, so I am working through options for where to house his console to avoid messy cables. Will obviously need a plug point and an hdmi port.

We could create shelves where the fire currently is, and run a cable through the flue and to the shelf? Though the PS4 is tall and awkward.

Alternative idea is to run a hdmi wallface outside the house and to the left (for example) then back in for the PS to sit on a shelf/unit - allowing us to make the fireplace more decorative?

Any thoughts on the wbove, or other ideas very welcome!!
