Raising money for homeless

I missed out on dream house after the person selling pulled out. I am so grateful I still have a house and want to raise awareness of people being homeless. How can I raise the profile of the gofundme page to maybe get a bit more shares online? Maybe Facebook? Anything else? It’s for Salvation Army

I find this slightly problematic, as I usually associate GoFundMe with supporting an individual rather than a registered charity.

A registered charity (like the Salvation Army) will usually be able to give you advice about fundraising, especially if you're linking in with one of their campaigns. Might be worth talking to them.

I found no way on go fund me to take money out for a charity. Any ideas?

Sadly  shared it ok FB but the app doesn’t work with link on story. So in the end only a small number of family members donated. I done my other donations directly to the charity so I agree not the best site

    Do not use GoFundMe.

Donate your own money direct to the relevant charity so that they get 100% of the money and 100% of the gift aid. If you want to encourage others to donate then get them to do so via the same route.

Best idea is always start with the charity you want to support and see what their preferences are - there are several options.

Do you withdraw to charity on go fund me or does the money automatically sent over to the charity?

I don't know. It looks as if some charities have a link to Go Fund Me, but I strongly suggest you read what's on their website, and contact them if you can't work it out. It probably depends on how you set your page up.

Your questions are one of the reasons I'm slightly leary of GoFundMe: with JustGiving and the sites I am more used to for charity fundraising, the money goes to the charity, direct to the charity, and does not touch the account of whoever set the page up.
