    Why do you want to swap a car that is "great" for an unknown quantity?

    As for the OP, a straight swap is unlikely but why not seek to negotiate the best trade in value you can with the dealer?  If the dealer won't match what you can sell for elsewhere, then sell elsewhere.

    Negotiate down the price of the new car before agreeing the valve of the old car.
