Everything is in place to leave SJP. Hand delivered instruction to a main (not partner) office and spoke to staff. No funds received. No acknowledgement or response from that office, complaints department or chief executive. Any suggestions on next step?

What are you expecting?
Are you transferring to another provider? if so, that provider handles the transfer. Not SJP. SJP will sit there waiting for a transfer request to come in from that provider. Once they get that, then you get a letter confirming th transfer out.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -
I'm not familiar with their account closure process but did any of their employees actually suggest hand delivering paperwork to an office, which may not be where such processes happen? It sounds like there could be a back story here?winplease said:Everything is in place to leave SJP. Hand delivered instruction to a main (not partner) office and spoke to staff. No funds received. Last year took small withdrawal which was delayed; received compensation. Then last tax year closed two plans (via an IFA hoping they might prevail) - longer delay - complaint on-going. So wished to make sure there could be absolutely no reason for delay this tax year. Wanted physical signed proof of receipt. Advised admin centre not accessible to clients hence visit to office. Instruction accepted with receipt and assurance it would be scanned and sent to appropriate department that day for execution as per published timeline. So yes a back story.
I have a few miles on the clock, SJP is the third FA I've had over 20+ years, one retired, another became too distant following a house move. Neither delayed withdrawal instructions/funds. So expecting to receive my money!0 -
Not sure you’d get much traction with a hand delivered instruction to their HQ. Straight in the bin I suspect0
