Received CCJ in 2025 from 2022

I received a letter 2 days ago from DCBL “Notice of Debt Recovery – Unpaid County Court Judgement.” The fine is quite large now. This is the first letter I’ve ever ever physically received about this.
And turns out it's related to a Parking Eye fine from the end of 2022, and there was a judgment in April 2024.
All previous letters I believe were sent to my old address, which was still on my V5C – which yes is an oversight, which I corrected straight away after receiving this letter. I had updated all other details when I moved such as driving license.
When I called the number on the letter to find out what this was about. I found out it was a parking fine from overstaying in a car park, which I still think was dimly lit and the sign which noted the length of stay was not lit well at all and the signposting was poor and quite small throughout.
So panicking about the CCJ impact on my credit file, I agreed to a payment plan in the moment not really realising if there were other options at this stage.
My main issue is that this is the first I’ve heard of the fine or the court action, and I believe DCBL didn’t make a genuine effort to trace my new address until now. The delay definitely helped them to inflate the cost and not fairly allow me to respond.
I’ve checked Experian and other credit reports—no CCJ is currently showing on there, though DCBL claims claim will have been issued a year ago after the month period the judgement happened (checked the records online and I do have one)
Is there anything I can do at this point to challenge this? Is it reasonable in my favour i’ve only just found out about this, but conveniently after court actions happened! As i never had knowledge to be able to take action until yesterday! Main thing I want to achieve here is to get this CCJ removed and I hope they can allow with a consent order for my compliance.
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Cancel the payment plan immediately because not paying a CCJ 'in full' means it stays damaging your credit record for SIX YEARS.
Cancel it with your bank TODAY. Right now.
Setting aside a CCJ is fully covered in the NEWBIES thread and it is easy and it is mandatory for the court to grant the set aside, when an old address was used. It'll cost a £313 fee but you ask for the Order to include the Claimant to pay your fee back.
All is covered in the second post of the NEWBIES section 'Have you got a CCJ?' And it doesn't involve paying the PCN either.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for your reply! I’ll check those out.
I have already checked online records and I have been issued with a CCJ already. Since last year. So from what i’ve been told paying in full or a payment plan makes no difference is that correct? Should I not pay in full? I dont think I have a solid case to fight against the fine itself which I don’t think it’ll go in my favour as I overstayed in the car park.
I am worried about cancelling it as are they not going to start sending people round or enforcement as I really don’t want that?

It's April 2024, not 2025 so it's already not been paid in full? How much is the amount? It is very possible for a CCJ to not appear on your file if there is an address discrepancy or there is a broken link in your address history. But check https://www.trustonline.org.uk/ because if it's anywhere it's going to be on there.0

I’ve checked the file it appears under my name under my old address. The amount is £460, I have since moved address and updated the V5C after receiving the letter when it came to my knowledge i needed to do this. It hasn’t been paid in full I set up a payment plan with them before I knew any better as I was worried it was going to escalate and if i failed to contact them there might be enforcement action0

Just for clarification - have ANY payments under the plan been paid ?1

My credit score has been unaffected - because it was registered to my old address? But could it still have a negative impact? Really not sure I have a case to go against the fine as I overstayed but I want the CCJ wiped.0

If I were you I'd pay them the full amount, draw a line under it and it'll either appear as "satisfied" in any report, or not appear at all. Although a mortgage application would probably uncover it as they're more thorough. Vodafone or whoever might not be fussed though. If your V5 had been kept up to date there would have been other options.1
