Can someone give me advice , we bought a Volvo xc40 mild hybrid from a nearby car supermarket. Part exchanged our car and paid cash ,after a week the engine management light came on . Spoke with the guy in service and was told to bring it in which we did , was told they had had it on diagnostics and was showing 2 codes, didn't get any paperwork to prove this or was never shown any just took their word . They wanted it for a full day to do more tests so we booked it in and had time off work but they still were unable to find anything , so the service manager drove it from Scunthorpe to Doncaster to his home , result was it lagged occasionally but no management light came on but said that's what mild hybrids do . We brought it out and few days later the light comes on , so we asked if it could be seen by a Volvo dealership they agreed . This has been going on now for 7 weeks , had no communication or updates from the garage regarding tests at Volvo , now it's being sent back to them as they don't want Volvo keep putting parts on it when it's not solving the problem . We have just had enough now and would like to hand the car back and get a refund but on reading reviews on this garage it doesn't sound good that we will , any advice ?

Talk to Volvo and ask what parts they have put on it and why this was done. Write to the seller and ask what they have done to fix the problem. Once you have there answers you be in a position to reject the car. Playing Volvo off against the deal is the best bet.0
