Cheap energy club shows I can get cashback if I switch to a new fix with my current supplier British Gas. Is this correct? BG fixes do not have an exit penalty for switching to another of their tariffs, so it seems a bit strange because you could keep switching and getting cash back.

Unlikely they would pay a referral fee when you are already a customer. You would normally need to at least leave and then come back. Some folk switch supplier multiple times per year, so it is an option.

I’ve gone from EDF gas SVT to their no exit fee fix and the cashback has tracked via topcashback, which explicitly states existing customers are eligible.
