Hisense Fridge LED light

Hi all,
The LED light inside my fridge sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. It can go for months and be fine, but then stop working for a few days, and I have no idea what is going on. It's got to either be the mechanism that makes it come on when the door is opened, or the bulb itself, but I can't figure it out. This has been happening for close to a year and I want to resolve it...
I've tried googling to see how the light coming on and off works but can't get clarity - it might be something to do with magnets, but I'm not sure.
I've also tried to figure out how to take off the cover and be able to replace the LED, but no luck on that either.
It's a Hisense RB412N4AI1 fridge freezer and I've had it since 2021.
Any advice welcome!

According to the manual the LED light is not user replacable1

Most likely, yes. E.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reed_switchwallofbeans said:... - it might be something to do with magnets, but I'm not sure.
You can try either lockating the magnet in the door with some ferromagnetic bit or the switch behind the front plastic panels with a strong(ish) magnet.1 -
Open the door, and when the light doesn't come on, go around the aperture perimeter, thumping it with the thumb pad of your hand.1

Surely, that doesn't mean it isn't, just that they don't want me doing it?DullGreyGuy said:According to the manual the LED light is not user replacable
And they sell the replacement LED bulb on their site, so it must be possible...0 -
Thanks for this link! I found the reed switch under a plastic cover on top of the fridge, next to the door hinge. There are no obvious issues; lose wires etc. But maybe replacing it might solve the intermittent issue.grumpy_codger said:
