County court case

DBL took me to court for 3 parking tickets totalling £764, the case was held 2 weeks ago, I advised in writing that I was unable to attend due to personal circumstances.
I am now waiting to hear the outcome,

I have called the courts on numerous occasions, however, they advised they are still waiting for the papers from the judge.

I know that if I have lost then I only have 30 days to pay before I get a CCJ, so I called DBL, they advised me that they won and that £764 was awarded to them and that I need to pay them before end of month or I will get a CCJ.

Shall i just pay them or shall I wait for the courts, which they said could take up to 20 weeks. I cannot afford to get a CCJ.

Email DCB Legal and get them to confirm the amount of the CCJ and their bank details in an email.

What defence did you use? £180 should at least have been knocked off if you argued against the fake £60 add ons.

    What court and judge?

MCOL history only shows default judgments that occurred in Northampton, not local court results.

i don’t have a password for the claim on  MCOL , I only have the case number, so can’t check there,

I argued against all the inflated charges, but I suppose it didn’t help that I couldn’t be there to defend myself

Yep, sounds like it I'm afraid. Plus it's luck of the draw with judges.

    Email DCB Legal.

Sadly, that always leaves their legal rep with the floor to themselves. You were almost certain to lose and absolutely should have moved mountains to attend. We don't know your circumstances but it has cost you £800.

Expensive lesson, I am so sorry. There was no point defending and refusing mediation offers only to not attend the hour's hearing.

If you pay the claimant directly you need to be careful, as the court won’t be aware of the payment. This could result in a ccj being issued in error.

Hence why you pay on DCB Legal's portal immediately (being certain what the exact sum is, to the penny) otherwise they'll send HCEOs to your house in June.
