Thanks for the early start Gers
I’m off for Maths invigilation- just the 240 students so going in early to help sort the papers for each of the 12 or so rooms. Thankfully it’s a short paper.Yesterday - dog walk, washing, ironing, carpet shampooing, lawn mowing, dinner making punctuated by tea and cake with a friend which was very needed. This evening I’m donation blood so unlikely much else will get done.Take care all

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Wall to wall sunshine this morning, looks like it's going to be a very warm day. Yesterday's mist cleared and we had lovely sunshine but not quite as warm as it has been which was perfect.
No washing to do today - not quite enough for a load so it can wait until tomorrow. I have the hairdresser coming today after work for a much needed cut, I look like a burst couch!
Hope you're ok TA and recovering well.
Speedy recovery Ruby.
Have a good day if you can. Take care. XX13 -
The morning is, again, promising much. The sea is sparkling like a huge diamond and the air is still.First thing yesterday I opened my front door and, immediately, a swallow flew in, landed on the window and beat a furious pattern with its wings in panic. I managed to move the very heavy sofa, got a baking bowl over it, then put my hand inside to hold it and finally freed it out the back garden. Much panic here too as they are prone to poo out a lot when scared. Mind you, they poo such huge quantities anyway. But no poo here! When the cleaner came I took my body warmer to the laundry - they were almost knee deep in duvets. As it happens I forgot to bring mine downstairs so didn't add to their pile. No breakfast out, I went down to the lovely Tarbert, parked by the harbour and enjoyed a takeaway coffee watching the tide come in.This morning I too have to invigilate. Not the 240 students faced by @AA, I'll probably have one or two doing Higher / Advanced Physics then I'll be free in the afternoon to enjoy the sunshine.I hope that everyone is doing well and able to at least sit out. And thoughts to pirate @TA, perhaps the op wasn't as bad as you anticipated. Hugs to all.10

Good morning, it's grey and windy here.
How are you this morning T A?
Ruby, hope you had a better night last night. I'm a veteran of bad nights - the middle of the night is a lonely place isn't it, when you can't sleep. I sometimes get up, make cocoa and toast and read for a bit. It often helps.
Pleased you're feeling a bit better Camelot.
I had my hearing aid fixed yesterday, didn't take long. Next week I've got a micro suction appt so after that I'll be hearing better still.
Not much happening today, just the usual jobs.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning folks. A quickie to let you know I'm still in the land of the living but having bother focusing. It's odd cos I can already tell the right eye is much better but obviously I still need my specs on for the left eye. So that distorts my vision on the right. I hope I get used to this as I don't go back for a month for the check up, then I'll have to wait for a date for the next op. Meanwhile I'm going to have a rummage through old specs (pre cataract days!) and see if that helps.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning everyone GERS you have just reminded me of how happy I am not to be working at the cleaners although quilts were the easiest part of the job I’m certainly not missing ironing all that bedding for the holiday let’s that will be in now . I’m off to do a cleaning job now then off to get my haircut later . For those of you who struggle with sleep I must be the worlds worst sleeper have been all my life but I’m that nervous about going on this cruise I went to the chemist to get something to help me to be a bit calmer as I’m having terrible dreams when I do nod off and I’ve got some rescue remedy it’s really helped me and I’ve definitely slept better I still wake up but I feel calmer and managing to get back to sleep. TA hope you are feeling ok you will be pleased it’s done . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

TA just delurking to say - glad to hear the op went well. When I had my first cataract done, I had the corresponding lense taken out of my glasses - it was still a bit odd having one eye with perfect vision and one corrected with specs, but I got used to it. Your optician will do this for free, it takes them about 30 seconds!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.12

Good morning
A cloudy start and a bit chilly but promised sun later.
Today I'm off to our local Asd* to pick up the milk frother. Whilst there I'll see if they have split peas in as I want to make pease pudding (thanks Izzy). I dont hold out much hope as it's not my favourite place, but you never know. I'll also top up with petrol.
Tea last night was sausages, mash and veg. Tonight not sure, maybe pick something up while out.
TA, glad all went well.
Have a good day everyone, and hugs to all who need them. Take care.11 -
Morning everyone
Glad to hear all went well TA
It's cooler here this morning and quite dull, hopefully the sun might pop out later.
I pottered in the garden yesterday afternoon and got a few plants into pots. A new big planter was delivered so that's to put together, perhaps after work.
I need to go for some shopping before work, not much mainly milk and fresh fruit.
Izzy I used to always need rescue remedy when my girls were younger and we flew...strangely enough now I fly by myself I don't need it.
Hope you all have a good day x

Morning all from a somewhat cooler and cloudy Yorkshire although the sun should be along later in the day when we might get up to 16 deg. I know it's cooler when the butter won't spread!
No decorating for me today or tomorrow as I have other things that need doing but DS will be here again at the weekend and, between us, we're hoping to have it finished. Still to do: one wall (two coats), door and frame (top coat), radiators (x 2) and a couple of small touch-ups. Oh, and dispense with the crime-scene plastic covering! If all goes to plan, next week I'll clean the carpet, put up clean curtains and start moving things back in from the kitchen and hallway that are currently like obstacle courses!
Instead of my weekly Co-op top-up today, I'm going to Sainsburys as they're more likely to have what I need; the Co-op is still experiencing delivery problems with replacing stock, especially fresh/chilled/frozen foods. Tea today will be sausages, egg & beans, fresh fruit salad for afters.
@TA - Good to hear you survived! The focus issue is a bit of a nuisance at first but it does get less noticeable fairly quickly. Once you've had the other eye done you'll be able to see all the dust!
@IzzyBee - I can only imagine how little you miss the cleaners, you certainly seem a lot happier these days.
Hugs available for the poorly and sleepless ones, hope everyone has a good day. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10
