    Thanks, this is only a very small company, less than 10 people. Problem is my previous company still havent got my P45 ready (i left 16 days ago). My proof of NI number was via my last payslip.

    You can get a letter from HMRC with your NI number if you need it more quickly.

    That shouldn't stop you from being enrolled as a new employee with them.

    There is a new starter checklist which you can use & select box B.

    I wouldn’t worry too much about the P45.

    Fill in the new starter declaration. 

    If the company do payroll in house, the cut off date might be the day before pay day.

    Do you have an online tax account? Your NI number and proof can be found in that.
