Morning everyone. It's sunny again but a little cooler and I'm currently wearing a jumper although that will be shed once I get moving. It isn't really what could be called cold but it feels like that after what we've been treated to lately.
Yesterday I got the windows cleaned - not great but better than they were - and the first coat of paint put on one wall. I'll do the second coat today. I didn't get as much done as I'd intended but that was because I had a bit of a chatty day. First up was NDN when she collected a parcel I'd taken in for her; she's OK and waiting to find out if her DS will be allowed home on bail after Sunday night's fracas. Next, ex-neighbour saw me as she was driving past and pulled over for a chat/catch-up. Lastly, the chap who lives opposite when he was having a cuppa outside. He's a widower with three children and enjoys some adult conversation from time to time.
The council grass cutters have been and, seeing as they no longer strim around certain parts (so called wild areas), I need to deal with the weeds that are taking over my little patio and around the property walls. They do a Spring session of applying weed killer but it's a bit hit and miss so I'll do a DIY version. I have the weed killer but need to wait for a dry day when it's not windy. Early next week looks promising.
@Coxy - Snap, I'm having risotto too - it will take care of all the bits of leftovers from the fridge.
@TA - Good luck for today, you'll be back home before you know it. Most of that three hours is spent waiting around, the op itself is only about 30 minutes.
Time to see if I can be a bit more industrious today to make up for what I didn't do yesterday. Have a good day all, hugs if needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning all, good luck today TA, I can understand you being nervous though.it's a bit cloudier today- yesterday was glorious. DB2 came to pick up SiL birthday card in the morning and we sat out with our coffee. I went for a good walk round the park, and chatted to a lovely couple on the way back, they were always out in the garden last year but his health has taken a turn for the worse. He was sat in the car while his wife was loading some things in so he opened the window and we had a quick catch up but he gets very breathless nowI think we're heading up to the retail park to get some travel money in a bit & perhaps something easy for tea as my order isn't coming until tomorrow.I got a new mp3 player yesterday to listen when we're away, didn't want to use my phone all the time.I had to dispose of my last one I'd had for years as it wouldn't turn on.The new one is so tiny but seems ok but I need my reading glasses to see the screen properlyEnjoy your day lovely people.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Lovely bright and warm day again I have some washing in the wm which can be hung out later. I had the most terrible nights sleep I am never a good sleeper but I was still awake at 5 this morning so I cancelled Rob today as I would have been no good at anything much today, I had a few hours between 7 and 10 so feel a bit more with it now.
TA you should be there now but I hope everything goes ok for you xx
Dinner tonight is a salmon fried rice which will use up a few bits and the last of the salmon from the side I bought at Easter, I might make a crust less quiche for dinner tomorrow too with some salad.
Dogs will get a quick walk around the park later as it’s too warm for a long walk, and I need to water the garden.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Good afternoon
A very hot day here. Walked little dog this morning who is now snoozing. She is due to be groomed shortly, she will be sulking when she gets home. Need to do a food shop as the fridge is empty.Made a chicken & orzo dish yesterday, it was delicious and so easy so will be added to the regular recipes I use.Went to Bournemouth at the weekend as there was an organised event for Para Surfing for disabled people to try with the UK coaches. DS2 really enjoyed it, never seen him smile so much and the weather was fantastic.
Enjoy your day. TA hope all goes ok.10 -
