LG or Hisense?

Obvs a very blunt Q, but are there any obvious pros and cons for either?
This will likely be a 55" TV, and must have Freeview Play. Remote control ideally 'normal', and not stupid-smart.

LG OLED every time. But you don't define a budget. ALL new TVs will be ultra stupid smart. Not that use is obligatory (yet).
Freeview Play is the last iteration of Freeview spec. Freely is the latest with integration to streaming of the main 5 psb broadcasters..
Audition the remotes in person at a retailer. That alone may make a decision simple. (Weight, button size, text/lack of... ).1 -
HiSense in the UK is a fairly budget brand, you'll get more bank for your buck but they have nothing that competes with LGs top tier products. Be careful when looking online, they have a history of calling the same products different things in different territories. Certainly a few years ago they did an upper middle tier TV in the US and gave the same model number to a budget entry level model in the UK.WIAWSNB said:Obvs a very blunt Q, but are there any obvious pros and cons for either? This will likely be a 55" TV, and must have Freeview Play. LG OLED TVs are some of the best, they make the vast majority of OLED screens in any TV (Samsung started a couple of years ago but before that LG made everyone) but different brands put their own electronics to it - I dont think its too surprising that the manufacturer has worked out how best to pair it.
So comes down to budget.1 -
Yup, noticed the LG remotes have unpleasant mouses in the middle. I don't think 88 year old mil will enjoy that.Rodders53 said:LG OLED every time. But you don't define a budget. ALL new TVs will be ultra stupid smart. Not that use is obligatory (yet).

Budget not the main consideration, but needs to not being silly.DullGreyGuy said:

Must be 'obvious' to use.

If budget isn't the main consideration then I suggest Sony. Shouldn't cost more than £5001

I would not go for Hisense again. I bought a 65 inch last year and the sound went funny. It wasn't the speakers either; 2 attempts at repair and then amazon refunded me. Never had trouble with LG - you get what you pay for sometimes.1

Thanks.LG or Sony it'll be
