Full gas range cooker?

So these seem increasingly difficult to find

I'm personally keen on my induction cooker but my mum wants a full gas range cooker

Ie: 90cm gas range cooker with only gas ovens too

It's reasonably easy to find dual fuel ones, or gas hobs / electric oven, but it seems to be more difficult to find full gas range cookers

Does anyone know where I should be looking?

Thanks

Currys, AO, Marks Electrical, RDO and Appliances Direct would be my normal choice but gas only cookers are not very common these days with only Marks making into double figures

Is a dual fuel totally out the question? You can get ones running on a 13amp plug and would vastly increase your options.

Unfortunately it is indeed totally out of the question. For whatever reason, my mum is keen on only getting a range cooker that's 100% gas

Well gas are far cheaper to run, if you do a lot of cooking it can make a fair difference.

Maybe but it's only 40% efficient for gas vs 85% efficient for induction cooking

0.07p/kWh of gas / 0.6 = 17.5p of gas to get one unit of heat energy

0.2703p/kWh or electricity / 0.85 = 31.8p of electricity for one unit of heat energy

So the difference is pennies for one unit of heat, though I guess it adds up.  After all
17.5 / 31.8 = 55% which means gas is about 55% cheaper than electricity on a standard tariff

For me though, it'll actually be cheaper than gas due to solar and batteries with a high depth of discharge. I'll get some for my mum and dad too if there's no grants available

In that case, induction cooking would be the cheapest form of cooking

Not sure you can get an Induction cooker?
  • We have Rangemaster 90cm gas range. Gas hob, grill and main oven. The smaller oven is electric fan which plugs into a 13amp socket. We mostly use the gas oven, but the occasional times we use the fan is very handy. Could that be an option?

Or have a gas oven and an air fryer ( which is basically a small electric fan oven) .
