CINCH - Nightmare

Hi Everyone,
I purchased a car from Cinch in December last year. I January this year there was a major fault on the car meaning it needed to go into the garage to be repaired, 4 months later, I still don’t have the car.
I have escalated the complaint to Motonovo who told me they would make a decision within 8 weeks. That 8 weeks has come and gone and I still don’t have a decision. What do I do from here as I’m currently driving a courtesy car provided by Cinch which is 6 years old, petrol & manual costing me a fortune to run where as the car in question is a 3 year old Electric car obviously automatic.
Any advice greatly appreciated

What was the fault?GTB7 said:Hi Everyone,

I am guessing that means that you bought the car on finance? Have you contacted them to ask for an update? How far past the eight weeks is it?GTB7 said:I have escalated the complaint to Motonovo who told me they would make a decision within 8 weeks. The automatic vs manual thing is largely irrelevant provided you have a proper driving license. The running cost is potentially something you should be able to claim for, you should be able to show the cost per mile for the EV vs the petrol car and show the additional cost.GTB7 said:What do I do from here as I’m currently driving a courtesy car provided by Cinch which is 6 years old, petrol & manual costing me a fortune to run where as the car in question is a 3 year old Electric car obviously automatic.

The key things are, what is the fault, was it present at purchase or is it a wear and tear issue, why there is a delay for repairs. The secondary issue is why the finance company have not responded within their estimated timeframe and what potential resolution you are looking for.0 -
Raise a complaint with them.GTB7 said:Hi Everyone,

As a plus point, you're putting miles onto someone else's car while yours is unavailable. Doesn't make up for the problem, but it's a small advantage.0

If you agreed to the repair within 30 days of taking delivery of the car then the 30 day short term right to reject the car is paused and is still open to you.GTB7 said:Hi Everyone,

The 30 day clock only starts running again when you get the car back.0 -
Might have to send a MCOL to your finance company as well as reject the car. That means returning your courtesy car and sue for a refund.0
